Description

Easy, Slow Cooker Jalapeño Popper Dip with Bacon has just the right amount of spice. The perfect 5-minute throw together dip for any get together, super bowl party, or Friday night at home!

Ingredients

Scale
  • non-stick cooking spray
  • (2) 8 oz packages cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • (1) 4 oz. can diced jalapeños
  • (1) 4 oz. can chopped green chilis
  • 1/2 pound bacon, fried, cooled and crumbled
  • OPTIONAL GARNISHES: green onions and fresh jalapeño
  • OPTIONAL FOR SERVING: corn chips, pretzels, tortilla chips and/or pita chips

Instructions

  1. Lightly spray the bottom of the slow cooker with cooking spray.
  2. Cube the cream cheese into 1" chunks and add to the slow cooker.
  3. Top the cream cheese with sour cream, cheddar cheese, parmesan cheese, jalapeños, green chilis, and 3/4 of the bacon crumbles. Use a wood spoon to mix.
  4. Cook on low for 60-90 minutes, stirring every 30 minutes until the cheeses are melted and bubbly.
  5. Top with the remaining crumbled bacon. If using, sprinkle on sliced green onions and jalapeños. Serve with tortilla or corn chips for dipping.

Notes

Using a block of cheddar cheese and shredding your own is recommended. The cheese melts more easily and the flavor is stronger than when you use a pre-shredded store-bought option.

To make this recipe gluten-free friendly, use gluten free tortilla chips OR raw veggies for dipping.
