Best of June, a round-up of June recipes and happenings at Simply Sissom.
Welcome to the BEST OF JUNE where we officially say, HELLO JULY (a.k.a. fireworks, Sissom family beach trip and the last month of Summer break).
Lets get started with what I made in the kitchen in June. SPOILER... LOTS of green (zoodles and smoothies anyone?). With Summer produce cheap and plentiful, I made sure to take full advantage of local farmer's markets and veggie heavy recipes. The boys are still home full time, sooo there are fewer recipes than normal, but NO WORRIES.. they are all delicious (especially the Veggie Loaded Chicken Pad Thai).

June Happenings:
- Simply Sissom has a BRAND NEW private Facebook group, Simply Sissom Community and it's FREE! I pop in each week with a super simple and prep-friendly dinner that I share via FB LIVE. Free downloadable prep instructions and recipes are also available. Feel free to invite a friend and join us!
- I've been doing more Facebook LIVES and YEP, they are super uncomfortable, lol! That said, you guys seem to be finding them really useful. I haven't been making entire recipes (who has time to watch that), BUT I have been demonstrating how to spend 10-15 minutes prepping a simple weeknight meal that can then be thrown together with little to no effort at dinner time. I like cooking this way because it allows me to spend time in the kitchen when the kids are playing, napping visiting grandma and NOT at exactly 5:15 each night (which may or may not be convenient). You can check them out on the Simply Sissom Facebook Page.
VIDEOS:
- I'm getting back into doing videos on a regular basis. The latest.. Pesto Zucchini Noodles with Cajun Shrimp.. and it's pretty fantastic if I do say so myself☺️.
(Soooo many people messaged and asked me about the spiralizer that I used to make the zucchini noodles for the Pesto Noodles with Cajun Shrimp. Here's a link!)
CRAVINGS:
July is going to be all about grilling, Summer produce and easy to throw together weeknight meals (because who wants to spend Summer days hanging in the kitchen?). Look for a few simple grab-n-go breakfast options sprinkled in as well!
