    Best of February 2019

Simply Sissom's Best of February intro to post picture.

Best of February 2019, a round-up of February recipes and happenings at Simply Sissom.

Pin Best of February for later!

Well, hi friends! February has officially ended, PRAISE THE LORD! You guys, I know being a parent is all about inconveniences but between weather, illness + illness + illness, babysitter cancellations, well.. I haven't had both boys in school for 3 consecutive days since before Christmas.  Judge if you wish, but I'm exhausted and absolutely thrilled at the prospect of letting my guys run off some of their energy OUTSIDE (i.e. NOT the kitchen) in the coming months.

On a positive note, even with all the schedule upsets, I was able to share 7 new recipes this month. The theme of fast + easy continued into February, with the Egg Roll In A Bowl taking the award for the meal we ate the most often. I mean when you find a recipe that takes such little effort AND everybody eats it, you gotta take advantage.

Simply Sissom follower's hands down favorite was the Superfood  Dark Chocolate Quinoa. It was the most viewed recipe on the blog this month. Are you guys trying to tell me you need more dessert/healthy treat ideas? I can make it happen.

Let's take a look at what else was happening in the kitchen:

Blueberry and Almond Butter Breakfast Cookies on a glass cake pedestal.

    1. Baked Eggs In Avocado// 2. Egg Roll In A Bowl// 3. Blueberry Almond Butter Breakfast Cookies// 4. Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup (with a higher-protein option)// 5. MASTER RECIPE: Homemade Vinaigrette Salad Dressing// 6. Buffalo Chicken Salad Sliders// 7. Dark Chocolate Superfood Quinoa Bark

I also released NEW VIDEOS from Simply Sissom:

One Cool February find that I should share with you is that I signed up for a program called Faster Way to Fat Loss. As long as I was going to be cooped up in the house, I figured I may as well get serious about dropping some of this baby weight. I chose this program because it encourages a sustainable approach, encourages REAL FOOD, doesn't eliminate any food groups AND I can still have coffee. In short, you count MACROS (carbs, protein and fats), fast intermittently (eat in an 8 hour window) and carb cycle (some days are low carb, some days I eat lots of carbs). The diet pairs with workouts that are provided so I have enjoyed that aspect. I won't be discussing FWTFL or sharing meal ideas/info on the blog, but you can follow along on Instagram Stories if you are interested.

Random Thoughts: Is my Valentine not the cutest? Cruz is 4 months old and wearing little blue jeans, so basically.. time to start scheduling college visits😢.
