Welcome to the end of March post where we say officially say good riddance to Winter (fingers crossed) and recap all the delicious things we made and fun things we did in the past month.
Let's get started with what we cooked up in March.
RECIPES:
- Lemon Herb Salmon El Papillote // 2. Belgian Spelt Waffles // 3. 3- Ingredient Hummus Crusted Chicken // 4. Whole-Food Sloppy Joe Sandwiches // 5. Sun-Dried Tomato Basil Hummus // 6. Thai Chopped Chicken Salad // 7. Creamy Whole-Food Chocolate Breakfast Shakes // 8. Cherry Cashew Granola Bars // 9. 3-Ingredient Chicken Pesto Salad
Did you give any of these recipes a try this month? My favorites were without question the creamy chocolate breakfast shakes (you know I love a good grab n' go breakfast) and the Thai Chopped Chicken Salad. Delightful.
MARCH HAPPENINGS: Chickens
Whelp... perhaps the most shocking news of March is the addition of 7 chickens to our family. Yes, we already have 2 boys and 3 dogs. Yes, we live in a neighborhood. No, I had NOTHING to do with this decision. Yes, I am less than pleased about our new family pets. So seriously.. how bad is this going to be? I'm all for fresh eggs, but I can buy those from friends or at the farmers market. Chicken owners, any advice? Are my neighbors going to kill me?
MARCH FAVORITES:
Shop -- THIS COOKWARE is my favorite of all of Joe's impulse Amazon Prime purchases. I'm not into being all "Sciency" so don't ask me to go into specifics, but you guys, with this pan you can sauté and fry food without using butter or oil.. and it works. Nothing sticks. Best part, it's made from titanium which is a safe alternative to teflon. Food that doesn't stick and a pan that won't kill you... what could be better??
Watch - Netflix released season 4 of House of Cards and I lost an entire weekend of March that I can never get back?. Next... on to Fuller House!
Read - Dana, one of my FAVORITE bloggers EVER from the site minimalistbaker.com is releasing a print cookbook!!! Her recipes are plant based and simple, which is sometimes a hard combination to find. The cookbook has 100 recipes which are vegan and mostly gluten-free. Best part, each recipe takes either 1 bowl, 30 minutes start to finish or uses 10 ingredients or less. Click HERE for more info or to pre-order. Release date is April 26th!
Listen - StartUp Podcast - 2 women build a dating company in the male dominated world of startups. It's so entertaining! Best part.. since I was a little late to the party finding this one, all of the episodes have already been recorded so you don't have to wait for new episodes to be released!
WHAT I'M CRAVING:
In Season (early Spring) - Mint, Mushrooms, Peas, Asparagus, Brussel Sprouts, Broccoli, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Citrus, Spring Greens. Sweet Potatoes, Radishes and Parsnips
For starters, Bourbon Chicken Bowls (coming soon!). I'm also craving tons of easy, filling, seasonally-based entrees in April. Stay tuned!
Talk soon!
