Well, hi friends!! Christmas season is officially here (a.k.a holiday parties, Elf on the Shelf and ALLLLLL the Christmas cookies!!!) and we meet again! ❤️

November was a slow month here on the blog, but I got up a new recipe each week and for this stage in life, I'm calling it a win! My posting schedule is currently controlled by a teeny-tiny-oh-so-cute-dictator-of-all-things.

One cool find that I should share with you is my new obsession with the site The Trip Clip. If you follow along with Simply Sissom on Instagram you know that mornings with 3 kids have been less than ideal. Since I need to feed/change the baby AND get the boys ready for school at the same time, they've had to get a little more independent.

I used the Trip Clip site to create customized morning routine checklists for the boys and it's been really really helpful. They were super simple to throw together and there is TONS of clipart to choose from which is helpful since Campbell still isn't reading. There is a small fee (less than $5.00 I believe), but it has been so worth it. Once you pay, you can make unlimited customized lists. FYI.. this is NOT an affiliate link, just something I have found helpful.

Since I have taken a step back from the blog this month, I have been using the break from recipe development to try out easy recipes from some of my favorite bloggers. Here are 2 that the whole family LOVED!!

Ok, ok... Campbell picked out every piece of butternut squash from the second recipe after crying a bit at the prospect of eating "orange stuff," but the sausage and gnocchi part were a hit!

    1. Instant Pot Beef and Broccoli from Lee at  Fit Foodie Finds.
    2. One Skillet Butternut Squash Gnocchi from Erin at Well Plated.

In other news I did create a couple recipes this month and they are pretty tasty if I do say so myself. My favorite is by far the Bacon Honey Mustard Balls. You guys.. I know a sauce from mustard and honey sounds a bit odd, but it is delicious and honestly couldn't be simpler.

I also posted about my favorite store-bought all natural food coloring and sprinkles. This year India Tree® came out with a TRUE RED and I think my Christmas dreams have all been answered. You can find out more HERE.

    Looking Into January:

Big things are coming!! The plan is to get back into a regular posting schedule following the holidays and I am already testing ALL NEW quick and healthy recipes that will go hand in hand with your New Year's Resolutions. I'm contemplating bringing back Simply SIssom's Whole30 January. Anybody interested? Looking for something else? Let me know what you want to see!
