Best of September, a roundup of September recipes and happenings at Simply Sissom.
Pin Best of September for later!
Welcome to the Best of September where we officially say HELLO OCTOBER (aka.. Halloween, The BEST holiday ever).
Let's get started with what I made in the kitchen in September. SPOILER.. LOTS of pumpkin spicing happening. My personal favorite this month.. pumpkin spice latte syrup. Spend 5 minutes whipping up a batch and then add the spicy warmth of freshly baked pumpkin pie to coffee, oatmeal, baked goods and more specifically, this month's Chunky Chocolate Pumpkin Muffins (more recipes coming next month)!

September Happenings:
September has been so busy at the Sissom House. Camping trips, blogging conferences, soccer season in full swing.. you get the idea. We have settled into the rhythm of a new school year and as I knew would happen.. my resolve to handle a load of laundry daily, pack school lunch Every. Single. Day. and to serve freshly prepared meals nightly, well... it's wavering.
This weekend I spent 45 minutes prepping 5 REALLY SIMPLE meals that I plan to serve throughout the week (1 is freezer friendly in case I opt for sandwiches eaten a the soccer field on Tuesday). I used the recipes from my e-course Savvy Mama Meal Prep: Quick and Easy. They are some of my family's favorites and entering into the week with dinner planned and prepped makes me feel a little less overwhelmed by the laundry stack that accumulated while I traveled to Vermont for a blogging conference last week. Anybody else losing their domestic mojo as we enter into Fall?
If you're looking for other prep ahead friendly recipes, check out the Simply Sissom private Facebook group, Simply Sissom Community. It's FREE! I pop in each week with a super simple and prep-friendly dinner that I share via FB LIVE. Free downloadable prep instructions and recipes are also available. Feel free to invite a friend and join us!

CRAVINGS:
Fall is one of my favorite cooking seasons! October is the months that adding pumpkin to All. The. Things. FINALLY becomes socially acceptable. Look for more recipes that utilize the salted pumpkin spice latte syrup (I'm looking at you Pumpkin Spiced Apple Oatmeal Bake).
